Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs (CFLs), LED Bulbs and Mercury

Compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs are not as efficient as LED light bulbs. Additionally, they contain trace amounts of mercury. Both fluorescent and LED bulbs need to be disposed of properly. There are several areas where CFL and LED bulbs can be taken for proper disposal (see first link below). DEP has launched a Recycle Right campaign to expand CFL recycling in the County (see second link below).
