PEP must start within 72 hours (3 days) of when you were exposed, every hour counts.
HIV Treatment and Care Information: Montgomery County offers free or low-cost HIV medical care at Dennis Avenue Health Center in Silver Spring. Call 240.777.1869 to get started. We can help with:
- HIV medical care and medications
- Help to navigate, medication concerns, benefits, housing, food, transportation, and
- Dental care
- Mental health and substance use referrals
- Virtual and in-person support groups
- Partner notification
Cost: HIV care at Dennis Avenue is free or low-cost regardless of insurance status or income.
Dental care for people living with HIV: Many people living with HIV face dental problems that are harder to manage without specialized care. Montgomery County provides dental services for HIV patients at Dennis Avenue Health Center, including:
- Preventive care (cleanings, exams, x-rays)
- Limited restorative services (fillings, simple repairs)
- Extractions
- Oral cancer screening
- Specialty services such as dentures, root canals, and crowns (as available)
