Application Process for a Rental Moderately Price Dwelling Unit (MPDU) and Eligibility Requirements

Montgomery County's Moderately Priced Dwelling Unit (MPDU) Program offers affordable rental MPDU units in apartment communities throughout the County. Persons interested in the MPDU rental program must apply directly to the MPDU apartment community of their choice. The leasing agent will provide you with an application, verify your income and credit history, and determine your eligibility based on the established MPDU regulations for rental units outlined in the first link below. The leasing office sets the minimum income limit and varies from property to property.

Each leasing office has its own application submission system (online or in-person); please contact them for instructions. Refer to the second link to view or print the list of apartment complexes with MPDUs.

The DHCA MPDU Office does not maintain a list of current vacancies, provide applications, or track the status of submitted applications ? all related questions should go to the rental/leasing office.

The DHCA MPDU office does not act as an intermediary or involve itself except in rare disputes between the parties. Please refer to the link labeled Tenant-Landlord Disputes to review the list of topics and the applicability of the County Law.

Detailed information about the MPDU Rental Program is available at the links below See the second link for a listing of current apartment complexes with rental MPDUs and their contact information below (second link has listing of current apartment complexes with rental MPDUs and their contact information)
