Driveway Apron Replacement

Existing driveway aprons and drainage structures beneath the apron are in the public Right-of-Way (ROW), though they benefit the private property owner. Maintenance of these roadway features is the responsibility of the property owner. However, if the Department of Transportation, Division of Highway Services (DHS) is performing a roadway or concrete rehabilitation project within the neighborhood, the DHS will provide individuals with an option to replace deteriorated driveway aprons at the County's contract price. Any private work beyond county Maintained Right of Way performed will be done utilizing an agreement between Homeowner and Contractor at no risk to the County. Typically, weeks before the roadway or concrete work begins, newsletters are distributed to all homes with information, instructions and project contacts. Please refer to the project list posted on the website.

Driveway aprons will take approximately five days to cure after a new driveway apron has been poured. Additional time may be beneficial, if possible.

If the road is a numbered route such as Rte. 355, 117, please contact the Maryland State Highway Administration at 301.513.7300.

A representative will investigate within five (5) business days.
