Red X on Streetlight

If there is a taped RED X appearing on a streetlight pole, a NO VOLTAGE condition (no power) has been identified and the local utility company was notified to repair the service disruption to the streetlight. This process may take several weeks or occasionally months (when installing new conduits) to properly complete the repair since it involves the power company.
