Radon in Home

Radon is an invisible, radioactive gas created during the natural breakdown of uranium in rocks and soils. Long-term exposure to radon can be a health hazard. Radon can seep into a home through cracks and other holes in the foundation. Any home can have a radon problem, not just those built on soil and rock types with high geologic potential for radon release. Please click on the link below for more information on radon, including how to test a home for radon.

For inquiries requiring the response of a DEP investigator, requestors will typically be contacted within 3 days although resolution of the issue may take longer depending on the circumstances of the case.
