Stranded Travelers Assistance

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Housing Stabilization Office may be able to financially assist stranded persons with a grant for returning home. These customers are not Montgomery County residents but are those who came to the area temporarily (a few days or so) and now are seeking to return home. Customers need to verify the home to which they are trying to return. They may be eligible for assistance in returning. Customers may also contact Traveler's Aid: 240.505.4255 or 202.878.9735, or go on the Traveler's Aide web site (links below).

The DHHS Office locations are: 1301 Piccard Drive, Rockville, MD. 20850; 8818 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD. 20910 and 12900 Middlebrook Road, Germantown, MD. 20874. Customers should go to the nearest Housing Stabilization office. Walk-in hours are from 8:30 AM - 5 PM.
