Montgomery County does not provide a service for painting address numbers on street curbs. While painting address numbers on the curb is not prohibited, nor is a permit required from the Department of Permitting Services, it is advised that the numbers be located on the house or other location visible from the street since the curb can easily be blocked by vehicles, snow, and debris and/or be difficult to see in the dark. It is also advisable for residents in a homeowners association to obtain approval from their association, prior to painting address numbers on the curb. The Department of Transportation will not be responsible for painting or re-painting any street address numbers on curbs.
