Montgomery County Division of Transit Services clears all county maintained bus shelters (547) and up to 500 additional bus stops during a significant snowfall. The snow removal team will clear snow from bus stops and shelters when it is safe and generally after a snow event. Generally, the team focuses on high volume routes. The County does not maintain shelters within the city limits of municipalities such as Gaithersburg, Rockville and Takoma Park.

During severe weather, riders should check the Transit website for service disruptions, as heavy snow can cause delays or suspensions.
