Retiree - Child With Disability Health Insurance Coverage

A disabled child is defined as an unmarried child (including an unmarried child of an eligible domestic partner) age 26 and older who is incapable of self-support because of a mental or physical disability and who depends on the retiree for support. The child's coverage may continue if the disability began before the day of their 26th birthday and the child was covered under a County Government health plan before age 26.

Proof of disability must be submitted to the insurance provider. Please contact Kaiser at 1.301.468.6000 or CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield at 1.888.417.8385 or United HealthCare at 1.800.638.0014.
