Under Federal Tax Law, domestic partners and domestic partner's children are not considered as dependents for tax purposes when they are enrolled in any Montgomery County's Health Insurance plan. The County's contribution towards their coverage is taxable Imputed Income to the Retiree. Imputed Income is reported to the Internal Revenue Services and on the Retiree's W-2 form.
