If a Department of Transportation (DOT), Division of Highway Services snowplow damaged a mailbox at a private residence, the County will install a standard post and mailbox at the residence as soon as all snow plowing is completed. Online users may report a damaged mailbox by clicking on the Create Service Request
button below. Please complete all of the fields in the Contact Information
section, provide the property address in the Service/Incident Address information
section and provide a brief description of the request in the Brief Description
To report a non-standard mailbox, please file a claim with the County's Risk Management Division. Please see the topic entitled "Filing a Claim Against the County". In the meantime, DOT Highway Services will install a temporary mailbox.
If the road is a numbered route such as Rte. 355, 117, please contact the Maryland State Highway Administration at 301.513.7300.
A representative will investigate and respond to service requests within two (2) business days to repair or replace.
