Maryland public school students entering 7th and 8th grades for the 2015 academic school year must show proof of vaccination against Tetanus-diphtheria-acellular pertussis (Tdap) and Meningococcal meningitis (MCV4), in accordance with Maryland state law. Students not in compliance with the immunization requirements will be excluded from attending school until documentation of the required Tdap and MCV immunizations is provided.
If unable to get an appointment for vaccinations with a child's health care provider, 7th and 8th grade students may obtain free Tdap and MCV immunizations through Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services, Public Health Services Immunization office. See link below to make an appointment. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the "Make Your Online Appointment" hyper link and follow the directions. New clinics are in operation this September. When an appointment is made, please write down the confirmation number which will be required if the appointment needs to be cancelled..
