Scheduling an Inspection After Application for an Electrical Permit

Once an electrical permit has been issued, the applicant may schedule the inspection on-line. If the electrical permit was obtained online, they must wait two (2) business days to schedule the inspection. An Electrical inspection may be scheduled online by using the prompts on the Department of Permitting Services (DPS) home page, "Online Services - Data Search" (see link below). The Electrical permit(s) must be available to schedule an inspection. If this is a Close-in inspection, or Final inspection for a Residential job, the Building permit and the Mechanical permit must also be scheduled for the same date. If it is before 12:00 noon, select the date for the following day. If it is after 12:00 noon, then select the date for two days hence. The system will list the date of inspection, inspector name and telephone number and provide a confirmation number. The assigned inspector may change the morning of the inspection once the inspector work loads are adjusted. Please check the Data Search website between 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM to confirm the name and phone number of the inspector listed for your inspection. The inspection will occur on the selected date unless otherwise specified due to weather, etc.
