Reconsideration Recertification or Redetermination Question - Silver Spring

Reconsideration's or recons, can be every 6 months, every year or every three years, depending on the type of household. For food stamps redeterminations ocurring every six months, these alternate between mail-in and full interviews (face to face or via phone call). For mail-in redeterminations, the form needs to be completed and returned to the office. The customer should document any changes on the recon form mail back in the self-addressed envelope. No interview needed, and case will continue. For recons at twelve months, a face to face or phone interview is still required. If a form was not received or there is a question about a 12 month recon, contact Montgomery County 311 for assistance during regular office hours. Please note that recon processing may take up to 60 days. If customer is calling within that time, it may be too soon for a status.
