Project Lifesaver

Project Lifesaver is a proactive response by the Montgomery County Police Department to identify individuals within the community who have a propensity to wander due to a diagnosed medical condition such as Alzheimer's Disease, Autism, or Down Syndrome.

Project Lifesaver is offered entirely free of cost to caretakers and participants. Caregivers are provided with information and tools to prevent episodes of wandering. If necessary, the wandering individual may be outfitted with a personalized bracelet transmitter that emits a unique automatic tracking signal every second, 24 hours a day.
