Same Day Commercial Re-Inspection After Initial Inspection Failure

DPS does not do Re-inspections the same day. If an inspection fails; it must be rescheduled. If this is an emergency inspection, please contact either the Commercial Inspections Field Supervisors to discuss this matter. Inspection times are subject to inspector availability. A building inspection may be scheduled online by using the prompts on the Permitting Services home page, Online Services, Data Search (see link below). Please have the building permit(s) available to schedule an inspection. Once the permit has been located, enter the type of permit and permit number. On the "Schedule Inspection" tab, enter the type and date of inspection and the contact ID number. If it is before 12:00 noon, select the date for the following day. If it is after 12:00 noon, then select the date for two days hence. The system will list the date of inspection, inspector name and telephone number and provide a confirmation number. The assigned inspector may change the morning of the inspection once the inspector work loads are adjusted. DPS will make every attempt to honor the requested time preference but cannot guarantee that the inspection will occur during the preferred timeframe.
