The Maryland Health Connection (also known as Obama care or Affordable Care Act) is for residents of Maryland between the ages of 18 and 64, who do not have affordable health care; or cannot find health care through work or on their own.
Open enrollment is now closed. The next enrollment period will begin on November 15, 2014.
Customers who applied and completed an application and want to know their status can call: 1.800.834.3817. Customers who applied prior to the March 31, 2014 deadline and received an extension in order to complete an application, can expect to be contacted by a navigator within the month of April to schedule an appointment. For questions about the extension process, please call: 240.773.8250. For customers who applied and have been accepted into Medicaid, please dial the Maryland Health Choice Enrollee Action line at: 1.800.284.4510. It is possible that Medicaid questions will be referred to the location Department of Health and Human Services Income Support offices. See link below for additional Health Choice phone numbers.
For other health care options prior to the next open enrollment date, consider the low income clinics, or, if one is aged, blind or disabled, consider applying for Medicaid through the Department of Health and Human Services.
