Abandonment or Removal of Stationary Storage Tanks for Flammable or Combustible Liquids

A permit shall be obtained from the Department of Permitting Services (DPS) to remove, abandon, place temporarily out of service or otherwise dispose of any above ground or underground flammable or combustible liquid tank. NFPA 30 shall be followed when tanks are placed out of service, abandoned or removed. An Application For Permit is available at and must be submitted to the Fire Prevention and Code Compliance Office at the Department of Permitting Services, 255 Rockville Pike, 2nd Floor, Rockville, MD 20850. A copy of the site plan must be available for review at the time the application is submitted. The cost of the permit is $77 and is payable by check or money order to the Fire Prevention and Code Compliance Office.
