Health Care Resources for Seniors

Aging and Disability Resource Unit (ADRU) may be able to assist with questions related to healthcare resources for seniors (only), including medications, and QMB, SLMB. QMB stands for Qualified Medicare Beneficiary; SLMB stands for Specified Low-Income Medicare Beneficiary. Both programs are Income Support programs and designed to assist seniors with paying for Medicare premiums, co-payments, or deductibles.

For information from ADRU, contact the office at: 240.777.3000. The office is open Monday and Fridays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. On Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays, the office is open from 8:30 AM to 7:30 PM.

The Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP) may also be able to assist with health benefits information and/or questions, call: 301.255.4250 or click on the link below.

To contact the Medicaid hotline for information about QMB/SLMB or to obtain an application, call: 1.800.492.5231 or 410.767.5800. One may also obtain an application at one of the Department of Health and Human Services Income Support offices (based upon resident zip code), and make an application at the same location. If there are questions regarding a QMB SLMB application already in progress, contact the Income Support offices where the individual applied.
