There are three options: 1. Montgomery Community Action Agency VITA Partnership (CAA) prepares returns for low to moderate households earning less than 54K a year at four weekly sites, in the afternoon and evenings: Gaithersburg, Takoma Park/East Silver Spring, Rockville, and Wheaton. Appointments may be made, cancelled or re-scheduled online; or call 240.777.1123 for an appointment. After clicking link below, select desired location upper left corner. Calendars will appear, and show available dates in white (unavailable dates are grayed). After clicking on a free date (which is a hyper link), available appointment times will appear, with a "book it" button to select. Complete fields to make appointment, and print confirmation. For married couples filing jointly, only one appointment is needed.
2. Free VITA tax services are also delivered by nonprofits see Link 2, scroll half way down page. Call for appointment: Chinese Culture and Community Service Center, CASA de Maryland; Ana Mendez and East County Regional Service Center. Walk-Ins: Community Tax Aid DC, and Wheaton Library Mobile Center VITA (at Long Branch Library). Check site for addresses.
3. The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP/AARP) Tax Aide Program, for low to moderate income individuals with special attention to SENIORS (age 60 or older),provides tax preparation by appointment only at multiple locations.
