Maryland Health Connection (MHC) is for residents of Maryland between the ages of 18 and 64, who do not have affordable health care or cannot find health care through work or on their own.
Although the last open enrollment period ended on February 15, 2015, Maryland Health Connections is allowing consumers who owe a tax penalty for not having health coverage in 2014 to still enroll for 2015 coverage through a special enrollment period that will run from March 15 through April 30, 2015.
For questions about an enrollment or application, contact the Maryland State Call Center: 1.855.642.8572; (TTY 855.642.8573), or a navigator, assister or caseworker at the any of the in-person assistance sites located throughout Montgomery County (sites are listed on the regional website, see link below). Medicaid enrollments, as well as Life Change enrollments continue throughout the year, see web site for details.
Individuals who have been approved for Medicaid and need help selecting a Managed Care Organization (MCO) or doctor may call the Medicaid Health Choice Line: 1.800.977.7388 or, if one has Medicaid and would like to report concerns about accessing health care call the Health Choice Enrollee Action line at: 1.800.284.4510.
