Bethesda Utility Relocation

There will be utility relocation in Bethesda, starting with Washington Gas beginning in mid-April and lasting approximately 3 months. Construction will include digging trenches to remove and/or replace existing gas lines on Elm Street and Woodmont Avenue that will impact a portion of Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda Avenue and Hampden Lane.

Although this is not specifically related to Purple Line construction, this project is funded by Montgomery County and is managed by the Maryland Transit Administration. The Bethesda Metrorail Station South Entrance will eventually connect to MTA's Purple Line Bethesda station. For more information on the Purple Line, please click on the second link below.

If there are any such questions or concerns related to the utility relocation, please contact: MTA Bethesda Utility Relocations/Business Sustainment at 301.543.9343.
