Smoke Detectors in a Rental Unit
The property owner is ultimately responsible for ensuring that smoke detectors are properly installed and operating in rental units. Lack of Smoke detectors is considered an emergency, and DHCA Housing Code Enforcement should be notified immediately. See Section 26-8(b)(1) of Chapter 26, Housing and Building and Maintenance Standards on the attached link for the Code reference.
