Installation of a New Kitchen Exhaust Hood Commercial

There are two types of kitchen hoods: Type 1: Grease Hood (designed to remove grease laden vapors) - will require a mechanical permit and two copies of shop drawings, which must be reviewed and approved before the permit is issued. The shop drawings are NOT required to be signed and sealed by a design professional. Only a Mechanical Permit is needed when replacing an existing Kitchen Exhaust Hood. However, a new installation must meet all current code requirements. An electrical and fire suppression permit will also be required when installing the hood;
Type 2: Heat Hood (design to remove steam and heat only) - will require mechanical and electrical permits, but no shop drawings.
